Performing Arts

Welsh Hills School has long recognized the importance of music and theater education in its curriculum offerings.
Performing arts classes nurture abilities to reason, analyze, and interpret information. Performing arts also provide valuable experiences
for students in collaboration, public speaking, and self-expression.

Students at Welsh Hills, kindergarten and higher, receive two classes of music/performing arts instruction per week. Our infants, toddlers, and pre-school students have music woven into their curriculum throughout the day. The music component of the curriculum incorporates music theory, choral lessons, and an introduction to instrumentation through the recorder and hand bells. Each spring, students perform a musical in which every school aged student has role. Students are also a part of the production crew that creates the sets and costumes and manages props, sound, and lights.
