Summer Camp — General Information
Summer is officially here! And with it, our modified summer camp and summer session options.
All summer programs will be offered weekly for five weeks beginning June 29 and ending July 31.
All programs will run from 9-3:30 p.m. with extended care available from 3:30-5 p.m. This schedule allows us to minimize staffing changes within groups of children per CDC guidelines and reduces health risks.
Each person's temperature will be taken prior to entering the building, midway through the day, and at other times as needed. Anyone with an elevated temperature will be removed from contact with other children and wait for pick up in a separate room.
Masks will be required for Children's House, Summer Camp, and staff. We know this is a learning curve for everyone! Lots of campers will need to be reminded frequently to fix their mask or put their mask back on. Masks must cover the nose and mouth. We will provide two, cotton (two-ply) masks for each camper that can be decorated.
Handwashing will be required immediately upon entering the building, and constantly throughout the day. Hand sanitizer will be available, but hand washing with running water is preferred whenever possible.
Snack and lunch for each person must be brought from home and kept in camper backpacks. Microwaves and community dishes will not be available.
Water bottles must be brought from home each morning and kept with each camper's personal belongings. We can refill from our sinks as needed. Water fountains will not be available.
Social distancing will be in place both indoors and outdoors.
Groups will not intermix during the day, and there will be no community space in the building. Each group will have an assigned bathroom that no other group will use.
Weather permitting, our programs will operate with windows open and as much outdoor activity as possible.
It is our hope that as time passes, the health crisis will improve and that we can 'relax' or even remove, some of our precautions, but as of this moment, we must plan with the utmost care for our children and staff and in compliance with CDC and the Ohio Department of Health recommendations.
When registering more than one camper, please register each camper individually.
Summer Camp Fees:
Welsh Hills School Student: Full-Day Camp - $175/week • Half-Day Camp - $100/week
Non-Welsh Hills School Student: Full-Day Camp - $195/week • Half-Day Camp - $115/week
Space is available on a first-come, first-served basis. All registrations require a $40 non-refundable deposit per child per week at the time of registration. Full payment must be received two weeks prior to the start of the session or your space will be released to someone on the waiting list. Welsh Hills School reserves the right to cancel programs that do not meet minimum enrollment requirements. Deposits will be returned if camp is canceled due to low enrollment.
Registrations will be accepted online, in-person Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Welsh Hills School or by mail. Please contact Welsh Hills at 740.522.2020 with questions.
Other required forms include:
• Camper Emergency Medical Form
• Authorized Drop Off/Pick Up Form
• Medication Form required for sunscreen and other medications
• COVID - 19 Waiver
Separate forms are required for each camper and each medication. Forms are required for sunscreen.
Registration and full payment must be received two weeks prior to the start of each session.
Extended morning care is available from 8 – 8:45 a.m.at an additional cost of $25/week.
Extended afternoon care is available from 3:30 – 5 p.m.at an additional cost of $50/week.

Food + Nutrition at Camp
Welsh Hills School is a nut-free environment. Please do not send peanut or tree-nut products to camp. Full-day campers are to pack a lunch each day.Please note that community utensils and a microwave will not be available this year. Campers will also have the opportunity throughout the day to have a snack. Please be sure to pack one snack for half-day campers (or two snacks for full-day campers) and a refillable water bottle that your camper can refill. Please do not send soda or candy with your camper.
Refunds + Withdrawals
Cancellations must be made in writing to the program director at least two (2) weeks prior to the first day of the camp session in order to receive a refund.
The $40 deposit is non-refundable.
Makeup sessions will not be offered for any missed camp programs. All documentation required for a refund must be submitted by July 24, 2020.
No refunds will be processed after this date.
What To Wear + Bring To Camp
Campers should wear weather-appropriate clothing and closed-toed shoes to camp. For safety reasons, please do not send campers in Crocs or flip-flops. Campers should also bring two masks that cover their nose and mouth to camp each day.
Campers will also need to bring a packed lunch, snack, refillable water bottle, sunscreen and a change of clothes labeled with your child’s name. Please check the course descriptions to see if any other materials are needed for each individual program.
Campers are responsible for managing their own belongings. Please make sure that all of their items can be kept in a backpack that they can manage on their own. We are not responsible for any lost personal items.
