Intervention Specialist - Part-time

Reports to: Assistant Head of School

2022-2023 School Year

Welsh Hills School is seeking applicants to join our Montessori-based program as a part-time intervention specialist for the 2022-2023 academic year.

 

Position Summary

Welsh Hills School is a Montessori-based independent school that serves children from infancy through grade twelve. Through its hands-on curriculum, students experience education in an environment that encourages creativity and nurtures a child’s natural love of learning.

This is a part-time (20 hours a week position) but could be full-time if combined with teaching.

Responsibilities

Planning, implementing, and evaluating student-learning experiences using differentiated curriculum and augmented academic instruction for students are primary responsibilities. Managing progress reports and scheduling IEP meetings are additional duties.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Demonstrate and model equity, respect, inclusivity, and cultural awareness within the school.

  • Facilitate student academic and social learning one-on-one and in groups.

  • Facilitate formal and informal assessments as appropriate.

  • Communicate effectively with students, coworkers, and parents/guardians.

  • Participate in professional development opportunities provided by the school and seek other opportunities.

  • Work to nurture and maintain a classroom culture that embraces kindness and respect.

  • Support student learning.

  • Collaborate actively with other staff in lesson preparations and scheduling.

  • Support differentiated instruction in partnership with students, parents, and specialists.

  • Supervise students throughout the day in multiple settings.

  • Contribute positively to the overall school community.

  • Represent the school in a professional manner in all settings and circumstances.

  • Maintain confidentiality of school and student information.

 

Position Requirements

be open-minded, excellent communicators, and willing to collaborate with fellow teachers.

  • State of Ohio Intervention Specialist License is required.

  • Montessori, progressive education, or independent school experience/credential is preferred.

Substitute Teachers

We are always interested in meeting new substitute teachers for our infant through grade 12 classrooms.
